UK Athletics announced two new roles for the London World Athletics Championships in '17, with CHRIS DENNY joining the organization as head of marketing and communications, while MICHAEL BELOFF takes up the post of honorary legal adviser. Denny, formerly head of marketing for the London Organizing Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, will join the organization following four years at British Swimming and the Amateur Swimming Association, where he was responsible for the marketing, communications and ticketing functions. Beloff was named in The Times Law 100 '12 listing of the most influential lawyers in Britain and will take up the post after holding a variety of positions, including ethics commissioner for the London 2012 bid (Sport Industry Group). ... GIANLUCA FESTA has been appointed head coach of Serie A side Cagliari until the end of the season. Festa replaces ZDENEK ZEMEN. Festa, 46, who was once "linked" with the League Championship side Leeds United job, has "never managed a Serie A side and was sacked by third division Lumezzane" in March '13 (BBC, 4/22). ... Austrian second-tier football club FAC has appointed PETER PACULT as its new head coach. The 55-year-old "signed a contract until the end of the season without an option to extend." Pacult: "The FAC is the club where everything started. If it needs me I'm there" (KRONE, 4/22). ... STEPHEN KESHI has been appointed coach of the Nigerian national football team for the third time and signed a two-year contract on Tuesday. In his first spell he won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations but the deal "was not renewed after the 2014 World Cup." Keshi has been "set several targets and that his contract will be terminated if he does not meet them" (BBC, 4/21). ... Conference Premier side Welling United appointed LOUI FAZAKERLY as its new manager on a permanent basis. Fazakerly had been in "caretaker charge" of the Wings since March 3. Fazakerley has "won three of his 10 games in charge of Welling," which is currently 20th in the table and "above the relegation zone on goal difference" (BBC, 4/22).
