Former diver PETER TARSEY, 77, who competed for Great Britain at the 1956 Olympics in Melbourne, has been "found shot dead along with his wife at their villa in Spain." Tarsey, who also competed in two Commonwealth Games winning a bronze in '58, "was found dead alongisde his 77-year-old wife JEAN TARSEY at their home in Xalo near Benidorm on the Costa Blanca." A Foreign and Commonwealth Office spokesperson said, "We can confirm the death of two British nationals in Alicante, Spain. We stand ready to provide consular assistance" (London TELEGRAPH, 3/30). ... ZINEDINE ZIDANE said he "wants to be the coach of Real Madrid or France." The former Juventus and Real player, who has been "learning the ropes" as coach of Real's reserve side Castilla, "set out his ambitions." Would he "take over" the Real job? Zidane said, "Yes I would go for that. Do I feel ready if I was offered the first team? You are never ready, but if it happened like that I would have to say yes" (AFP, 3/30). ... The list of names of millionaires accused of concealing fortunes at HSBC bank in Switzerland "includes three renowned Brazilian FIFA agents": REINALDO PITTA, EDUARDO URAM and RICHARD ALDA. Businessmen RENATO TIRABOSCHI and OCTÁVIO KOELER, "friends and partners" of former Brazilian Football Federation President RICARDO TEIXEIRA "are also on the list." All individuals "sought after denied having accounts in Switzerland or any other irregularity in their respective financial movements" (LANCEPRESS, 3/30).

NIKE CRITICISM: Former Scottish runner LIZ MCCOLGAN "attacked her former sponsor Nike," claiming she was "dropped" after becoming pregnant. The former world champion track athlete took to Twitter to criticize a picture of fellow Olympian MO FARAH posing with U.S. sprinter JUSTIN GATLIN, "who was signed up by the sportswear giant last week despite being a a convicted user of performance-enhancing drugs." In a series of online posts on the topic, McColgan, now known as Liz McColgan-Nuttall, claimed that "she was dropped from her own Nike deal because she was expecting a baby earlier in her career" (SCOTSMAN, 3/30).
