Event Notes: NBA Boston Celtics To Meet ACB Club Real Madrid During Preseason Tour

The NBA Boston Celtics will reportedly play an exhibition game against Spanish Basketball League (ACB) club Real Madrid on Oct. 8 at Madrid's Palacio de Deportes, though the date "could change depending on the availability of the arena." The Celtics will be in Spain on a preseason tour and are also scheduled to play Armani Milan on Oct. 6. The "rumors of these games appeared in November, when the Boston Herald reported they were possible" (AS, 3/26). ... Brazilian Sports Minister George Hilton hosted a meeting Wednesday in Brasília with Palmas Mayor Carlos Amastha in preparation for the first edition of the World Indigenous Games. The event will take place in September in the capital of Tocantins state. An estimated 2,000 indigenous athletes are expected to participate in the World Games (Ministério do Esporte).
