Scottish Rangers Fans Fund Refuses To Hand Over $820,000, Citing Lack Of Trust

Scottish Championship side Rangers fans will "not hand over" £500,000 ($818,125) to their club "because they don’t trust the board with their money," according to Gary Ralston of the Scotland DAILY RECORD. The Rangers Fans Fighting Fund, established after the club went into administration in '12, "still has most of the cash donated by supporters in its safekeeping." RFFF Trustees led by RFFF Chair Andrew McCormick "had hoped the remaining £500,000 could be ringfenced by the board for use in a museum project or youth development." However, talks with CEO Graham Wallace "have stalled and now the RFFF have decided to hold on to their money." An RFFF spokesperson said that it has decided to "retain the funds donated until we are satisfied the club is financially stable" (DAILY RECORD, 9/18).
