A study by peer-to-peer lending platform Lendico found that it "costs more per year to be a fan of Real Madrid than any other La Liga club," according to the EFE. The "cheapest team to support is Eibar." The study found that Real fans spend an average of €3,464 ($4,553) per year, while the annual cost for Eibar fans is €2,644 ($3,475). The "average Spanish football fan of a La Liga club" spends approximately €3,000 ($3,943) annually. In addition to the cost of season tickets, "the variables taken into account include transportation to games, stadium refreshments, team merchandise and pay-TV subscription fees." Real Madrid is followed on the list by Valencia €3,209 ($4,218), Athletic Bilbao €3,104 ($4,080), Atlético €3,089 ($4,060) and Barcelona €3,064 ($4,027) (EFE, 9/3).
