NFL Mexico Dir General Says F1's Return To Mexico City Will Help League's Cause

NFL Mexico Dir General Arturo Olivé said that F1's presence in Mexico is a "point in favor" for the NFL arriving in Mexico, according to Alain Arenas of LA AFICION. Olivé said that F1's arrival in Mexico "will benefit not only the world of racing in the Mexican capital, but it will also support the NFL arriving" in the country. He said, "I had three calls from New York (the site of the NFL's headquarters), where they are very interested in coming here. ... [The F1 news] was something that was seen very positively by the NFL." Olivé added, "A game in Mexico is going to happen. We do not know when or in which city. It is not as close as we all would have liked, with me at the top of that list. But we are working hard. Everything that the NFL is asking of us is being done" (LA AFICION, 8/26).
