Spain's CSD Rules Women's Beach Handballers Will Have To Wear Bikinis
Spanish women's beach handball players "will not be required to compete in bikinis in national competitions or in int'l competitions in which they represent Spain," according to Antonio Nieto of EL PAIS. Spain's Superior Sports Council (CSD) put an end to a "controversy created by the Spanish Handball Federation's (RFEBM) warning that bikinis would be required in future competitions." CSD Dir General Ana Muñoz said, "Some of the uniform details are sexist." Muñoz on Thursday met with RFEBM President Francisco Blázquez and CSD President Miguel Cardenal to "address the subject" (EL PAIS, 7/10). Muñoz confirmed that "beach handball players will be able to choose the uniforms they prefer for national competitions" (AS, 7/10).
