Argentine First Division Side Independiente Members Make Hugo Moyano President
Argentine first division side Independiente's new president is Hugo Moyano, who obtained 5,719 votes (69.44%) in an election held Sunday. Moyano, who represented the Independiente Group, will be the club's president for the next three years. Members also voted to make Nurhayr Nakis Independiente's first VP and Carlos Montaña its second VP (Independiente). TELAM reported 8,236 of Independiente's 61,000 members participated in the vote. Moyano and the Independiente Group defeated the Independiente Movement, which was led by Claudio Esposito and received 17.48% of the votes. A total of 162 positions were filled, including 22 on the club's Board of Directors, five on the Review Commission and 135 member representatives (TELAM, 7/6).
