Marketplace Roundup: Value Of Barcelona Shirt Reportedly Exceeds $100M Following Beko Deal

Though Barcelona "did not announce the financial details of its new four-year partnership with Turkish appliance manufacturer Beko, sources close to the negotiations" said that it will be worth approximately €10M ($13.7M). Including that estimate, the Barcelona shirt is worth around €75.5M ($103.3M), with Qatar Airways reportedly paying €32M ($44M), Nike €30M ($41M), Beko €10M and Intel €5M ($7M) (EL PAIS, 6/30). ... La Liga side Real Sociedad announced that adidas will become the club's official kit supplier. The brand will also collaborate with Real Sociedad on a sales and distribution network that will include two official team stores in San Sebastián, Spain. Real's new adidas shirts "will be presented throughout the week and will go on sale on Saturday" (AS, 7/1). ... Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach has extended its sponsorship deal with Japanese electronics company Kyocera for another year. Kyocera, which was the team's shirt sponor until June 30, 2009, has increased its partnership and becomes an offical co-sponsor of the club starting with the '14-15 season (Borussia Mönchengladbach). ... Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg has agreed to a new partnership with travel provider America Unlimited to become the exclusive presenting partner of the club-owned TV channel. In addition to the presenting partnership, America Unlimited will receive ad space in camera view at the Volkswagen Arena. The club has also signed a new two-year sponsorship deal with online computer retailer one.de (VfL Wolfsburg). ... Renault, technical partner to the new Formula E championship, has extended its involvement with the announcement that it will be the title sponsor of the e.dams-Renault team which is jointly owned by Renault brand ambassador Alain Prost and Jean-Paul Driot. The brand’s name will appear on the cars, as well as on the drivers’ race suits and helmets. A pro-active communication program is also planned for the championship’s inaugural season (Renault). ... Puma released a series of Arsenal videos after its "record-breaking kit deal came into effect" on Tuesday. The new kit "is yet to have been released, but it was believed to have been leaked by a fan" in Macau, China, who spotted it in Puma's official store (INDEPENDENT, 7/1).
