Ibrox Stadium Named Venue For Scotland-Georgia Euro 2016 Qualifier In October
The Scottish FA has announced that Ibrox Stadium will host its "first Scotland fixture in 15 years after it was confirmed as the venue for the Dark Blues' Euro 2016 qualifier with Georgia," according to the HERALD SCOTLAND. Scotland will face Georgia on Oct. 11. Hampden is "out of commission after being converted into an athletics venue for next month's Commonwealth Games in Glasgow." Scotland Manager Gordon Strachan's side will "instead play their first home match of the qualifying campaign at Rangers' 51,000-seater arena." The SFA said that it will "also announce the venue for November's qualifier against Republic of Ireland shortly, with Celtic Park expected to be given the nod" (HERALD SCOTLAND, 6/11).
