Allianz Signs On As Naming-Rights Partner Of Rapid Vienna's New Stadium

Insurance company Allianz "has acquired the naming rights for the new stadium of Austrian Bundesliga football club Rapid Vienna," according to ORF. The new stadium, which is expected to open in '16 and replace the club's current ground, Gerhard-Hanappi Stadium, "will be named 'Allianz Stadium.'" Rapid GM Werner Kuhn said in a press release, "The Allianz Stadium will be Austria's most modern stadium with a sophisticated vistor management concept and impressive architecture." Allianz also "holds naming rights to five sports facilites around the world, including Bayern Munich's home ground." Neither party "revealed any financial details of the deal" (ORF, 6/6).
