Real Madrid Players Could Earn $546,000 Apiece With Win In Champions League Final

For Real Madrid players, winning Saturday's Champions League final against Atlético will mean a bonus of €400,000 ($546,200), according to Jesús Sánchez of LIBERTAD DIGITAL. Adding this sum to "the bonuses the players received for winning the Copa del Rey," Real players "may take home" more than €500,000 ($682,800) in bonuses this season. La Décima (a 10th Champions League crown) has been "Real's most desired objective for the last 12 years, and bringing it home will have its cost." For Atlético, "no agreement on a bonus for players is known," but it "seems evident" that club CEO Miguel Ángel Gil Marín will "reach into his wallet to satisfy his players' economic desires" (LIBERTAD DIGITAL, 5/22).
