Olympic Notes: Japanese Government To Boost Cyber Security Ahead Of Tokyo 2020

The Japanese government announced Monday that "it will take a more active role in bolstering cyberspace security, expressing concern about an increase in international cybercrime." A government panel tasked with examining cybersecurity issues envisages the creation of a policy forum in '15 "that would allow Tokyo to mount a coordinated response to online threats in line with the government’s goal of hosting a successful 2020 Olympics" (KYODO, 5/19). ... The Karnataka Olympic Association on Sunday announced that "it would revive the State Olympic Games later this year by conducting it alongside the Dasara Games" (DECCAN HERALD, 5/19).
