Second Bundesliga club Dynamo Dresden appointed ROBERT SCHÄFER as its new managing director. The 38-year-old, who recently held the same position at league rival 1860 Munich, "will be in charge of all financial and economic aspects of the club." Schäfer replaces former Managing Dir CHRISTIAN MÜLLER, "who was fired at the beginning of February" (BILD, 5/5). ... The Pakistan Cricket Board "has officially announced the appointment" of WAQAR YOUNIS as the head coach of the national cricket team. PCB "has appointed him as the head coach for two consecutive years." He will take over "in June." The PCB "will make an announcement for the supporting coaching staff later" (PAKISTAN TODAY, 5/6). ... Williams F1 team appointed Race Team Manager DICKIE STANFORD GM for Williams Heritage, a new division that oversees maintenance and public demonstration of the team's cars. Stanford began with Williams in '85 as a mechanic on NIGEL MANSELL's FW10 and worked his way up to chief mechanic before becoming team manager in '95 (Williams F1). ... MARIAN RAE will become president elect of England Golf for '15 with a view of becoming president in '16. Rae chaired the championship committee of the former English Women's Golf Association and continued in the role after the merger which formed England Golf. Rae has been the high sheriff of South Yorkshire, holding the office in the year of the Queen's Golden Jubillee, and is a deputy lieutenant for South Yorkshire (England Golf). ... Spanish Basketball League (ACB) side Bilbao Basket officially announced the departure of majority shareholder GORKA ARRINDA and his six advisers. XABIER JON DAVALILLO, who led the club from July '05-Nov. '10, is returning as club president. Bilbao's new eight-member exec council will include VP IÑAKI CALVO and Treasurer CARLOS DEL CAMPO (AS, 5/6). ... Portuguese side FC Porto named JULEN LOPETEGUI its new coach. Lopetegui, 47, previously coached the Spanish U19 and U21 national teams (EFE, 5/6).
