Media Notes: Yahoo Launches Social Media Campaign Featuring Jose Mourinho

Yahoo has launched a social media campaign across 20 markets to find a footballer to dub "The Special One." Yahoo global football ambassador Jose Mourinho is heading the campaign. The #Special1s is housed on Tumblr. The public can submit a 10-second video of their best footballing skill for a chance to win a training session with Mourinho (Pitch). ... Glasgow 2014 announced that the South African Broadcasting Corp. will provide free-to-air coverage of the '14 Commonwealth Games to the Southern African territory. SABC "will provide at least 100 hours of conventional coverage with extensive news and highlight on SABC 2 and Radio 2000 as part of the deal." The firm "has also secured broadcast rights" to the 2016 Rio Olympics (THE POST, 5/6). ... Sport betting data company Sportradar has agreed to become the official data company of the Int'l Basketball Federation (FIBA). Sportradar will collect, distribute and archive sports data from all competitions organized by FIBA for the betting and sports industry (Sportradar). ... Second Bundesliga club FC Cologne signed an early contract extension with its official kit supplier Erima. The contract, which was set to expire at the end of the '14-15 season, will now run until '18 (FC Cologne).
