League Notes: Australian Football League To Investigate Knee Injury Problem
The Australian Football League "has begun a comprehensive study of major knee injuries," after losing a record number of players to their second, third or fourth reconstruction in '13. While hamstring injuries remain the most common across the league and the AFL "continues to monitor research into the long-term effects of concussion, it has become concerned about the number of players undergoing repeat reconstructions because of failed grafts" (THE AGE, 5/6). ... Badminton Association of Malaysia "deny there is a gag order yet shuttlers preparing for the Thomas and Uber Cup Finals in New Delhi from May 18-25 are now off-limits to the media." The courts "are also off-limits to the media during the morning and afternoon training sessions unlike previous preparations for major assignments" (THE STAR, 5/6).
