Bilbao, Spain will host the first edition of the "Bilbao Sports Business Forum" on May 7, and former NBA Commissioner DAVID STERN will be among the speakers at the event. The forum will feature conversations between professionals from the fields of sports, business and media about the present and future of the sports industry and high-level sports sponsorship (NBA). ... ANDROULLA VASSILIOU, the European Commissioner responsible for sport, "will call for UEFA to do more to promote female coaches in football" when she meets UEFA President MICHEL PLATINI at a meeting of the UEFA Women in Football Leadership Program in Switzerland Wednesday afternoon. Vassiliou will propose strengthened cooperation between UEFA and the EU on gender issues, including the fight against discrimination and sexual harassment (EC). ... Dutch side Ajax coach FRANK DE BOER has confirmed that EPL side Tottenham "have approached the Dutch champions" about him replacing TIM SHERWOOD, but "insists he will not contemplate leaving until their season finishes" on Saturday. Spurs "are expected to appoint a new manager in the summer after reports earlier this month that Sherwood would not complete the final year of his 18-month contract" (SKY SPORTS, 4/30).

NOTABLE DEATH: Former goalkeeper and coach, and "one of the most beloved figures" in Israeli football, MICHAEL "LUFA" KADOSH, "passed away on Tuesday at the age of 74." Kadosh "coached for 37 consecutive seasons before falling ill last year." He "lost his battle with cancer on Wednesday" (JERUSALEM POST, 4/30).
