ARD, Sky Draw Top Ratings With Bundesliga Broadcasts On Saturday
German public broadcaster ARD "attracted close to 5 million viewers for its Bundesliga highlight program 'Sportschau' on Saturday evening," according to Alexander Krei of DWDL. A total of 4.8 million viewers tuned in to watch the show. The number translated into a market share of 24.6%, which "was the program's best rating since early February." In the target demographic 14-49, Sportschau obtained a 19% share. German pay-TV channel Sky, which, at the same time, aired the late game between Leverkusen and Dortmund, attracted 760,000 viewers to its broadcast. The number equaled a market share of 6.8%. Early Saturday afternoon, Sky obtained a 10.5% share for its Bundesliga simulcast as 980,000 viewers tuned in.
MOTORSPORTS: German free-to-air TV channel kabel eins "recorded strong ratings for its broadcast of the ADAC GT Masters on Sunday." The event was watched by 430,000 viewers and obtained a 5.2% share in the target demographic. German sports network Sport1 attracted an average of 580,000 viewers to its broadcast of Sunday's MotoGP race. In the target demographic, Sport1 had a 3% share. The Moto3 and Moto2 races prior to the MotoGP race obtained market shares of 2.4% and 2%, respectively (DWDL, 4/28).
