German public broadcaster ZDF "set a new season-ratings record for its broadcast of the Champions League semifinal between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich on Wednesday night," according to David Grzeschik of QUOTENMETER. A total of 11.66 million viewers tuned in to watch ZDF's broadcast, which started at 8:45pm. The number translated into a market share of 38.2%. In the target demographic 14-49, Madrid's 1-0 win was watched by 3.62 million viewers and had a 31.5% share. German pay-TV channel Sky, which also showed the first leg of the semifinal matchup, attracted 820,000 viewers. Prior to the live game broadcast, ZDF aired the "UEFA Champions League Magazin."
