Russia's Human Rights Commissioner VLADIMIR LUKIN "has been re-elected as the president of the country's Paralympic Committee after its most successful Winter Games in history." Lukin has presided over the Paralympic Committee since '96. The re-election will take Lukin through the 2018 PyeongChang Paralympics (R-SPORT, 4/23). ... A-League Sydney FC "moved quickly to end the uncertainty around the end of their season," sacking FRANK FARINA at a board meeting "just hours after the club had marked the end of the campaign at a low-key awards night." The news "was released before the meeting had finished," with the club’s terse statement saying “the board of Sydney FC also resolved to commence the process for appointing a new head coach following the conclusion of today’s board meeting” (Sydney DAILY TELEGRAPH, 4/23). ... Havas Sports & Entertainment has announced the appointment of TOVE OKUNNIWA as CEO of Havas Sports & Entertainment UK "to oversee brands" such as Coca-Cola, FA, The Lawn Tennis Association, Sport England, AEG, and Yahoo. Okunniwa will "take charge of the 30 strong division to direct daily business operations, client and partner relationships, strategy, and new business development." Okunniwa will report directly to President & Global CEO LUCIEN BOYER, as well as Havas Media UK Chair DOMINIQUE DELPORT. Okunniwa arrives at Havas from MEC Access. Okunniwa supplants former HS&E UK Dir GORDON LOTT, who has left to pursue an entrepreneurial project in sustainability (THE DRUM, 4/23).
