Scuderia Ferrari Team Principal STEFANO DOMENICALI announced on Monday that he "will resign from his position with immediate effect after the team's poor start to the F1 season." Domenicali will be replaced by Ferrari North America President MARCO MATTIACCI. Domenicali said, "It's time for a drastic change. As team principal, I take responsibility for our current situation like I've always done" (SID, 4/14). ... Argentine first division side Quilmes coach RICARDO CARUSO LOMBARDI, who said on Saturday that he was resigning from his position, will remain with the club. Lombardi: "Whatever happens, I will stay for the last six games" (CLARIN, 4/13). ... FOUZI LAKJAA "was elected president of the Moroccan Royal Football Federation" on Sunday. Lekjaa, the only candidate to vie for this position, "was elected for a four-year mandate, renewable once" (MOROCCO WORLD NEWS, 4/13). ... Olympic Bronze Medalist TOM DALEY "hopes his new diving academy will help unearth future stars." The 19-year-old relocated from Plymouth to London earlier this year "and his base at the city's Aquatics Centre will be the main training venue." The academy is part of a "Learn to Dive" development program run by Greenwich charity organization GLL, "which aims to maximise the legacy of the London 2012 Olympics" (BBC, 4/14).
