Mexican Second Division Side Celaya Execs Say They Will Clear Debts By Week's End
Mexican second division side Celaya President Alejandro Márquez and Celaya execs "admitted that the club's players are owed payments, but claimed they are owed less than two months' salary," according to Ricardo Magallán of LA AFICION. Celaya's players "were photographed with their faces covered with paper bags in reference to owed salaries on Saturday." Currently, "the debt owed to players is for one entire month, plus 40 percent of another." Celaya execs "agreed in a meeting with players to pay what is owed by the end of this week at the latest" (LA AFICION, 3/16).
