Before that, he was the chief communications officer at the USOC. He plans to return to the U.S. And pursue new opportunities. ... Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) CEO JAN POMMER "will continue in his role until 2018." Supervisory board Chair THOMAS BRAUMANN "announced the extension on Monday." Pommer "signed an early contract extension" until Oct. 31, 2018 (SID, 3/10). ... The Int'l Coach Federation added two new regional service center managers in Europe and Asia. ALLA KAZAJEVA joined as Moscow-based Europe, Middle East and Africa RSC manager and FELIX LEE will be based in Malaysia as Asia-Pacific manager (ICF). ... British ad agency Bartle Bogle Hegarty has launched a new venture into sports that will be run by London CEO BEN FENNELL, who will act as chairman. Former England rugby captain LAWRENCE DALLAGLIO will head business development. Former CHI & Partners Exec Creative Dir EWAN PATERSON will be the ECD. Media strategist KEVIN BROWN will be the commercial partner (CAMPAIGN LIVE, 3/10). ... Liga MX side Morelia announced on Twitter on Sunday that it hired ÁNGEL DAVID COMIZZO as its new coach. The hiring of Comizzo comes after former coach EDUARDO DE LA TORRE stepped down on March 2 (LA AFICION, 3/9). ... The Asian Tour named SHAHID SEN as director of business development at its Singapore headquarters. Sen has 15 years' experience in the industry in Asia. He will work with CEO MIKE KERR to establish new commercial and tournament opportunities for the Asian Tour. Sen previously spent six years at Repucom, where he was exec VP and headed the Asian revenue and sales division in Singapore (Asian Tour). ... NBA China appointed ELLA WONG senior VP and general counsel. Wong will lead NBA China's legal department and oversee all legal work across a variety of the league's businesses. She will report to NBA China CEO DAVID SHOEMAKER. Wong joins NBA China from 21st Century Fox, where she most recently served as regional counsel, Asia (NBA China).

IN SPAIN: La Liga side Getafe has sacked LUIS GARCIA and appointed former player COSMIN CONTRA as its new coach. Getafe President ANGEL TORRES confirmed at a press conference on Monday that Contra, "formerly of Romanian side Petrolul Ploiesti," will take over (FOOTBALL ESPANA, 3/10). ... Spanish second division side Girona announced after a 4-0 loss against Sabadell on Saturday that JAVÍ LÓPEZ "had been fired as coach." His replacement is PABLO MACHÍN, "who will coach the club for its final 13 matches of the season" (EFE, 3/9).
