Spanish Football League (LFP) President JAVIER TEBAS has written a book titled, "El fútbol no es así" ("This is not football.") The book, "which will be published by Tropo Ediciones, tells a story of match-fixing in La Liga and the Spanish second division, a subject that concerns Tebas." It "is scheduled to be released in April and Tebas will donate the money it raises to a foundation to aid humanitarian projects." It is "unclear how much of the book will be based on facts" (AS, 3/8). ... FA of Thailand President WORAWI MAKUDI's re-election "has been challenged at sport's highest court." The Court of Arbitration for Sport said that "an appeal by defeated candidate Virach Chanpanich will be heard on March 25 and 26" (AP, 3/8). ... NELO VINGADA "reached an agreement" with Iran’s Football Federation on Saturday to coach the U23 football team (TEHRAN TIMES, 3/9). ... Former Dutch footballer RUUD VAN NISTELROOY and Frenchman ROBERT PIRÈS "will be touring Vietnam next month as part of their roles as UEFA ambassadors." Van Nistelrooy, who played for ManU and Real Madrid, and Pirès, a key component in Arsenal’s '02-03 squad who were branded the "Invincibles," will arrive in Ho Chi Minh on April 3 with the UEFA Champions League trophy, "which they will parade around the city the same day" (PHNOM PENH POST, 3/6).
