La Liga Athletic Bilbao Taking Santa Mónica Sports To Court Over Failed Payments
La Liga side Athletic Bilbao on Thursday decided to "take marketing firm Santa Mónica Sports to court over failed payments," according to Juanma Velasco of MARCA. Santa Mónica Sports owes Athletic around €2M ($2.8M) in "payments for static advertising" at Athletic's San Mamés stadium. It "is believed that the debt will reach" €3M ($4.2M) by the "end of the season in June if no payments are made." Athletic President Josu Urrutia pointed out that "when one party fulfills an agreement, it is expected that the other also follows through." Urrutia: "When a deadline is given and not met, there is nothing else for us to do besides file a lawsuit" (MARCA, 3/6).
