Austrian TV Channel ServusTV Increases DEL Regular-Season Ratings By 74%

Austrian private-TV channel ServusTV has increased its ratings for German Hockey League (DEL) regular-season broadcasts by more than 74% in comparison to the previous year. The game between Cologne and Berlin on Jan. 19 was the highest-rated game of the '13-14 regular season. The game attracted a peak audience of 240,000 viewers and obtained a peak market share of 2%. On average, ServusTV's regular-season broadcasts were watched by 100,000. In the target demographic 14-49, the viewership number for regular-season games doubled in comparison to the previous year. Philip Wolfarth, the head of ServusTV's hockey program, "Servus Hockey Night LIVE," said, "The DEL on ServusTV is the best serial hockey product in Europe. The regular-season ratings show that passion and high quality prevail" (DEL).
