League Notes: WICB Says New ICC Structure Will Be To Its Benefit
West Indies Cricket Board President Dave Cameron "has given the assurance that the West Indies will benefit more from the recent changes in the governance structure" of the Int'l Cricket Council. Cameron insisted that the Caribbean team "will be playing more cricket over the next eight years because of the changes." The WICB "was one of eight full members of the ICC to vote in favour of the new proposal," which was approved at the ICC board meeting in Singapore earlier this month (IANS, 2/19). ... Pakistan said that it would "investigate allegations of match fixing in a domestic Twenty20 match last week." Former batsman Basit Ali made the charges over the T20 Cup match between the Sialkot Stallions and Karachi Dolphins on Feb. 11. The Pakistan Cricket Board appointed a three-man committee "to probe" his claims (AFP, 2/19).
