DFL CEO Christian Seifert: Brand Potential Of Bundesliga Clubs Has Room For Improvement

German Football League (DFL) CEO Christian Seifert "believes that the brand potential of many Bundesliga clubs has room for improvement in comparison to EPL clubs," according to the SID. Seifert said, "When you see that Puma recently signed a triple-digit million euro kit supply deal with Arsenal then it is thought provoking." Clubs such as Arsenal or FC Barcelona "have a global presence and that is the difference to most German teams." Seifert said that "the foundation for a further revenue growth has been laid by last season's all-German Champions League final between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund." He said, "I'm convinced that the Bundesliga's global marketing will profit from strong performances of its clubs in the Champions League" (SID, 2/18).
