Mexican, Peruvian Second Division Football Leagues Sign Player-Exchange Agreement
Mexican second division football President José Vázquez Ávila announced on Monday an agreement with Peru's second division -- to be called the México-Perú MR MT -- which will "allow for the exchange of youth players with the goal of strengthening both leagues," according to Rubén Guerrero of LA AFICION. For "now, only four Mexican players will head to the Peruvian league, which begins its competition on April 27." Ávila said, "These four players have a lot of talent, but did not have opportunities with their clubs for various reasons. They have the option of staying in Peru; I wish them the luck they did not have in Mexico" (LA AFICION, 2/10).
