Alpari World Match Racing Tour's 2014 Schedule To Include Stops On Three Continents
The Alpari World Match Racing Tour on Tuesday announced the schedule of events for the 2014 ISAF Match Racing World Championship. The Tour will feature six stages across three continents spanning Europe, Asia and North America -- with additional events expected in Europe and Oceania in the coming months. More than 30 racing teams will compete to be crowned champion and earn a share of $1.4M in prize money. The event will kick off from June 5-9 with Match Race Germany, held on the shores of Lake Constance in southern Germany. Teams will then head to the Stena Match Cup Sweden on the island of Marstrand on the west coast of Sweden. A new event, the Sopot Match Race, will take place in Sopot, a city on the east coast of Poland. In September, the Tour will move to Chicago and be staged off the city's Navy Pier. The next stop will be the Argo Group Gold Cup in Bermuda in October. The season finale will be the Monsoon Cup in Malaysia in late November, featuring the Tour's largest prize purse -- $450,000 (Alpari).
