Bundesliga Scores High Ratings On Sky; Fed Cup Draws Average Ratings On Sat.1 Gold

German pay-TV channel Sky Deutschland "recorded satisfying ratings for its Bundesliga broadcasts on Sunday," according to Alexander Krei of DWDL. The game between Schalke and Hannover attracted 780,000 viewers. In the target demographic 14-49, Schalke's 2-0 victory obtained a 3.4% market share. Prior to the Schalke-Hannover game, Sky aired the matchup between Augsburg and Stuttgart. The game was watched by 480,000 viewers and had a 2.2% share. On Saturday, Sky's simulcast attracted 1.31 million viewers. The number equaled a market share of 10.5%.

TENNIS: German free-to-air TV channel Sat.1 Gold "received pretty average ratings for its broadcast of the Fed Cup match between Germany and Slovakia over the weekend." The channel attracted an average of 30,000 viewers for its coverage starting on Saturday at 1:08pm. In the target demographic, the number translated into a market share of 0.1%. During the afternoon, the market share increased to 0.4% while 60,000 people tuned in. On Sunday, the Fed Cup broadcast attracted 70,000 viewers starting at 1:11pm. Sat.1 Gold obtained a market share of 0.4%.

SOCHI HOCKEY: German sports network Sport1 attracted an average of 240,000 viewers to its broadcast of the women's Olympic hockey game between Russia and Germany. The number translated into a market share of 1.2%. In the target demographic, Sport1 also obtained a 1.2% share (DWDL, 2/10).

BASKETBALL COPA: AS reported the Real Madrid basketball team's win over Barcelona in the finals of the Copa del Rey on Sunday attracted a combined audience of more than 2.7 million people on Spanish broadcasters TVE (more than 2.4 million) and TV3. The audience was the "largest for a Copa del Rey finals game in the 14 years for which these numbers have been recorded." The game obtained a market share of 15.8% (AS, 2/10).
