FIFA Ballon D'Or Award Show Obtains High Ratings On Sky Sport News HD, Eurosport

German pay-TV channel Sky Sport News HD "received convincing ratings for its live broadcast of FIFA's Ballon d'Or award show on Monday," according to Manuel Nunez Sanchez of QUOTENMETER. Starting at 6:15pm German time, the channel attracted 130,000 viewers to its broadcast. The number translated into a market share of 0.5%. In the target demographic 14-49, Sky Sport News HD's coverage of the award, which was won by Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo, was watched by 100,000 viewers and had a 1.1% market share. The award "was also broadcast on free-to-air TV by pan-European sports network Eurosport." The channel, which started its coverage at 6:25pm, attracted 540,000 viewers to its broadcast of the event. In the target demographic, 220,000 viewers tuned in to watch the award show from Zurich. Eurosport obtained market shares of 2.1% and 2.5% in the target demographic (QUOTENMETER, 1/14).
