Latin American World Cup Teams To Receive Total Of $180M In Sponsorship Investments

Sponsors will invest a total of $180M in the Latin American nations that will compete in the World Cup, according to SPORT. Athletic clothing brands will be "present in each country." In terms of communications, the "stiff competition that habitually exists in the market will also apply to the sports industry." Argentina has the most sponsorship of the countries from the region, and is followed by Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Chile and Uruguay. Sports marketing agency Euromericas revealed that Argentina's sponsors include Coca-Cola, adidas and Gillette. Brazil's group includes Nike, Nestle, Mastercard and Gillette. Colombia will be sponsored by Allianz, adidas, Movistar and Pacific, among others. Ecuador's sponsors include Banco de Guayaquil, Coca-Cola and VW. The Chilean sponsors are, among others, Samsung, Coca-Cola and Puma. Finally, Uruguay will be sponsored by a group including Coca-Cola, Geant Travel and Puma (SPORT, 1/14).
