Real Madrid on Wednesday announced that it has relieved ALBERTO TORIL, "the coach of Real Madrid Castilla -- the club's junior team -- of his coaching duties." JOSÉ MANUEL DÍAZ, who currently coaches the Real Madrid C team, will take over as coach of Real Madrid Castilla, which competes in the Spanish second division. Real Madrid informed that it has offered Toril "a position as director of youth development" (EL MUNDO, 11/20). ... Entertainment Agency Limelight Sports added former Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 didital marketer LUCIEN BIGOIS to its marketing department. Bigois "will work across Limelight Sports' portfolio including Energizer Night Run, London Duathlon and social media campaigns." Bigois joins Limelight Sports "after five years with Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One" (ISPORTCONNECT, 11/20). ... Tennis South Africa CEO IAN SMITH announced on Wednesday that "he will step down to pursue other interests" after nearly 10 years at the helm. Since his appointment in '04, Smith "has played a key role in turning TSA's fortunes around." He secured significant sponsorship and through grants "was able to implement numerous programmes to develop tennis at all levels." Smith negotiated the five-year deal between South Africa Airways and the ATP "that resulted in the internationally acclaimed South African Open" that ran from '09-11 at Montecasino (SAPA, 11/20).
