Mediapro's Gol T Channel To Air One Women's Football Game Per Week Starting Saturday

Women's football has "taken another step, a giant step, in its efforts to secure its place on the sports TV scene," according to Begoña Villarrubia of MUNDO DEPORTIVO. The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) on Wednesday said an agreement has been reached with multimedia group Mediapro to "offer, starting Saturday, one women's game per week through its Gol T channel." It is "a strong bet from TV on women's football, which is growing in unstoppable fashion and which has an anticipation that deserves a place on the grid." Each Saturday at 11:45am, "viewers will have the opportunity to enjoy a First Division women's game." This will kick off with "Saturday's game between Levante UD and Athletic Club" (MUNDO DEPORTIVO, 10/30). The EP reported Gol T's addition of women's football will "complement its football offer, which includes La Liga, the Premier League, the Copa del Rey, the Europa League, int'l competition and 64 2014 World Cup matches" (EP, 10/30).
