MotoGP team Ducati Corse has appointed LUIGI DALL'IGNA as its new GM. The current Aprilia race director will replace BERNHARD GROBMEIER, who held the position since the end of last year. Grobmeier, 54, "will assume a strategic position at the Volkswagen Group's motorsports department." Dall'Igna will start his new position on Nov. 11 (SID, 10/9). ...Synergy announced that JOSH ROBINSON has joined the company as head of digital. He will be responsible for digital strategy across all of Synergy's clients, and for leading Synergy's digital division, which has pioneered digital and social media innovation in sponsorship for clients including BMW, Coca-Cola and RBS. Robinson joins Synergy from media rights holder Sports Revolution, where he led work for UEFA, the RFU and the Football League (Synergy). ... The Japan FA handed J.League side Vegalta Sendai Manager MAKOTO TEGURAMORI "the task of guiding" the men's U21 national team to a place at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. The 45-year-old Teguramori, "who will leave Sendai at the end of this season," will be given a contract from Jan. 2, 2014 through Aug. 31, 2016 (KYODO, 10/10). ... The Qatar FA Election Commission announced on Wednesday the re-election of SHEIKH HAMAD BIN KHALIFA BIN AHMED AL THANI "as president for another four-year term." Hamad bagged 19 votes "to secure another term" (THE PENINSULA, 10/10).
