The National Rugby League's "long-standing" Media & Communications Manager JOHN BRADY "has announced he will end his involvement with the game's governing body at the end of the year." Brady, who has been involved in rugby league administration for nearly two decades, "confirmed he had tendered his resignation to pursue other opportunities." He "dismissed suggestions he had become the latest casualty of the broom that has swept through the NRL" in the wake of former CEO DAVID GALLOP's departure (THE AUSTRALIAN, 10/10). ... The Libyan Football Federation has "announced the appointment of" 63-year old JAVIER CLEMENTE "as the new national team coach." Clemente, from Spain, "has agreed a two year contract and will take charge of team preparations for next January's African Nations Championship, CHAN 2014 in South Africa" (INSIDE WORLD FOOTBALL, 10/9). ... German pay-TV network Sky Deutschland has appointed ANTHONY LIOW as new senior VP of marketing & brand communication. The 39-year-old Brit will replace IVO HOEVEL, who left the network in July (HORIZONT, 10/8). ... The Australian National Basketball League appointed FRASER NEILL as its new CEO. His appointment "comes just days after the NBL officially demerged from Basketball Australia." Neill "has previously held senior management roles" with the Australian Jockey Club, New Zealand and New South Wales Rugby Union and the Int'l Rugby Board (NBL).
