Olympic Notes: Russian Cosmonaut Confirms Olympic Torch Spacewalk Scheduled For Nov. 9

The Olympic torch "will go for its first-ever spacewalk November 9 after its launch schedule was confirmed by a Russian cosmonaut Friday." Cosmonaut Oleg Kotov said, "The flame won’t be burning in space, we’ll just carry the torch into space" (R-SPORT, 9/6). ... London Mayor Boris Johnson was presented with the Paralympic Order by the Int'l Paralympic Committee on Saturday for his support and contribution toward last year's London Paralympic Games. The Paralympic Order is the highest tribute a person connected with the Paralympic Movement can receive (IPC).
