News Corp. Launches New Football App, BallBall; Signs Jeep As Launch Sponsor
News Corp. has announced a new mobile and online football app called BallBall, which will deliver near-live highlights of the world's top leagues to users in East Asia. BallBall will initially target fans in Indonesia, Vietnam and Japan, a combined market of more than 460 million people. The Jeep brand has signed on as BallBall's launch sponsor. News Corp. CEO Robert Thompson said, "It is all about the mobility of unique content and the upward mobility of Asia" (News Corp.).
