Sauber F1 Team Reacts To Rumors, Says First Payments Have Been Received From Investors
After reports that its deal with three Russian investors is falling through, the Sauber F1 Team said that "money has already been received," according to Stefan Meier of BLICK. Sauber also said that the contract with 17-year-old Russian driver Sergey Sirotkin "has been signed." The Swiss-based team said, "The announced collaboration with our Russian partners is on the way. The contract with driver Sergey Sirotkin has been signed." In addition, the team "has given a little insight into the deal's financial details." It said, "the first contractual guaranteed payments to the team have been received" (BLICK, 8/14).
