German Handball Federation Resolves Internal Dispute, Submits Bid To Host 2019 Worlds
The German Handball Federation (DHB) "has resolved its internal dispute and cleared the way for a bid to host the 2019 IHF World Men's World Championship," according to RP ONLINE. After several days of controversy, the current DHB board "agreed to the plans of its successors in order to spare the federation another humiliation." However, the image of German handball "has taken another hit due to the controversy." Future DHB VP Bob Hanning said, "I'm very happy that handball is back in the spotlight. I believe that a bid to host the 2019 world championship is inevitable for the development of our sport and elementary for the goal of Olympic Gold. Now it's about combining all of our forces" (RP ONLINE, 7/11).
