German Public Broadcaster ARD To Drop F1 Live Radio Broadcasts From Program
German public broadcaster ARD "will drop its F1 live radio broadcasts from its program" in '14, according to the SID. ARD announced the decision after a board of directors meeting and said that its F1 radio broadcasts "have recently been economically unreasonable." ARD Radio Broadcast Commission Chair Joachim Knuth said, "It hasn't been an easy decision to drop our F1 live radio broadcasts. And therefore we will evaluate our decision in the fall of 2014." For some time, F1 "has been struggling with declining interest in the series" (SID, 6/25).
