League Notes: Delhi Police Still Questioning More Cricketers In IPL Scandal
Delhi Police Special Cell "has examined more cricketers" in the Indian Premier League spot-fixing scandal, including a left-armed bowler who plays from Uttar Pradesh, and is part of an IPL team from South India. Delhi Police officials said that a "few more players were examined as their names cropped up during interrogation of bookies and arrested players and they attended parties with them" (TIMES OF INDIA, 6/24). ... The Board of Control for Cricket in India announced that each player received a cash prize of Rs 1 crore ($168,000) for winning the ICC Champions Trophy.
