NRL Wests Tigers Shareholder Wests Leagues Campbelltowns Pulls Out Of Joint Venture

National Rugby League side Wests Tigers are "in shock after one of the club's stakeholders -- Wests Leagues Campbelltown -- sensationally pulled out of the joint venture," according to Dean Ritchie of the Sydney DAILY TELEGRAPH. Wests Leagues Campbelltown "has sent a letter to the Wests Tigers board permanently withdrawing from the club." Wests Leagues Ashfield and Wests Campbelltown make up Western Suburbs' 50% of the NRL joint venture club, with Balmain Tigers owning the remaining 50%. It appears likely Wests Ashfield "will buy out Wests Campbelltown's share." Wests Campbelltown owns 16.5% of Western Suburbs' 50%. Wests Leagues Campbelltown has one director on Wests Tigers' 10-member board. Balmain has five, Wests Ashfield the other four. The Wests Group looks "ready to acquire Campbelltown's seat, making the board a five-five split" (DAILY TELEGRAPH, 6/13).
