Premier League Club Everton To Install The 'Rolls Royce' Of Pitches At Goodison Park

EPL side Everton "will start next season with a 'Rolls Royce' of a pitch" once it has finished a major renovation at Goodison Park, according to Phil Kirkbride of the LIVERPOOL ECHO. The Blues "are in the middle of laying a state-of-the-art surface at the Old Lady, and one that will see the side play on the same type of turf as used in World Cup and Champions League finals." Head Groundsman Bob Lennnon "explains how the club will use a new system called Desso Grassmaster, which combines natural grass with artificial fibres to help create a solid playing surface." The "hybrid grass" -- or "reinforced natural grass" as it is also known -- is used at Wembley. Former Everton Manager David Moyes, now ManU's manager, "is said to have asked for it at Old Trafford in time for the new season" (LIVERPOOL ECHO, 6/11).
