Argentina's La Liga Nacional Contemplating Massive Changes To Reduce Costs
Argentine basketball league La Liga Nacional "is navigating deep waters of change," according to Emilio Hamilton of CLARIN. Top club directors are debating opinions and considering ideas to modify economic, administrative and competitive aspects of a tournament "that's strongest point is a high athletic level." The "questions are many." Clubs Association (ADC) President Eduardo Bazzi said, "Without relegations, the league will become a friendly tournament and have a relative athletic importance." Jorge Paredi, "who is responsible for Boca's basketball," said, "I don't believe it will be resolved without relegation. One has to also think about the effort of TNA [National Promotion Tournament] teams to earn promotion" (CLARIN, 6/3).
