Event Notes: Myanmar To Host Davis Cup By BNP Paribas In Yangon

Myanmar will hold the 2013 Davis Cup by BNP Paribas, Asia/Oceania Zone Group III and IV Tennis Tournament in Yangon this month "aimed at promoting tennis sports standard of the country" (XINHUA, 4/6). ... The 2014 World Twenty20 Cup will begin on March 16, but the organizers "are confident that the prevailing political tension in Bangladesh will not hamper its preparations." The final has been slated for April 6 next year, and a press conference "was held in Dhaka on Saturday to mark the one-year run-up to the tournament" (PAKISTAN TODAY, 4/6).
