Marketplace Roundup: Chinese Super League Agrees To Multi-Year Deal With Samsung

The Chinese Super League has agreed to a multi-year sponsorship deal with Samsung that will see the electronics company become an official partner of the league. The agreement covers several areas of category exclusivity including hand-held devices, PC, TV and home appliances (CSL). ... EPL Queens Park Rangers have renewed their partnership with shirt sponsor AirAsia. The new one-year deal, which will commence from the start of the '13-14 season, will see the Air Asia brand once again displayed on the front of QPR's jerseys (QPR). ... F1 team McLaren Mercedes extended its sponsorship deal with Italian automotive supplier Sparco for another three years. Sparco has been an offical supplier to the team since '96 (McLaren Mercedes). ... Cologne, Germany-based sports marketing agency sportsfirst reached an agreement to become the official marketer of the Croatian Handball Federation and Croatian first-tier handball club RK Zagreb. The goal of the unrestricted contract is to establish Croatia as an int'l handball brand and attract possible partnerships from the European industry and economy (sportsfirst). ... Spanish second division club Recreativo Huelva has agreed to a partnership with musical group Manguara (Recreativo Huelva). ... National Rugby League side Gold Coast Titans have partnered with home-grown coffee chain Zarraffa’s Coffee as a platinum sponsor for the next three years until the end of '15. Zarraffa’s Coffee logo was on display on the club’s playing kit in Sunday’s season opener against the Cronulla Sharks (Gold Coast Titans). ... Gloucestershire County Cricket Club and law firm Clarke Willmott LLP "have agreed a new sponsorship package" covering the '13 season, extending the relationship that began in '09. The deal "will see Clarke Willmott’s logo continue to appear on the collar of the team's playing shirts for all LV= County Championship and Yorkshire Bank 40 matches in the English cricket season, plus other branding at Gloucestershire CCC’s Nevil Road home ground in Bristol" (SOUTHWEST BUSINESS, 3/8).
