Event Notes: New Delhi Stadium To Host Hero Hockey Junior World Cup

The Int'l Hockey Federation revealed that New Delhi's Major Dhyan Chand Stadium will play host to the men's Hero Hockey Junior World Cup from Dec 6-15. Apart from Junior World Cup, the Indian capital "will also host" the men's Hero Hockey World League Finals from Jan. 10-18 next year (PTI, 3/6). ... Following "widespread criticism and requests" from the Int'l Cycling Union (UCI) and the Asian Cycling Confederation, the India Home Ministry "gave green signal for the 46-member Iran and 30-member China teams, for the Asian cycling championships, on Tuesday" (THE HINDU, 3/6). ... With the Tamil Nadu government "refusing to host Sri Lankan athletes on political grounds," the third leg of the Asian Grand Prix scheduled to be held in Chennai on May 16 has now been shifted to Colombo (PTI, 3/6).
