Media Notes: Italian Pay-TV Channel Hires Sarah Winkhaus From Germany's Sky

Italian pay-TV channel Sky Italia has hired Sarah Winkhaus from German pay-TV channel Sky "to support its F1 coverage team." Winkhaus "will become the main presenter of Sky Italia's new channel Sky Sport F1 HD" and report live from all 19 races of the '13 season together with former-F1 driver Jacques Villeneuve and Ferrari test driver Marc Gene (DWDL, 3/4). ... German free-to-air TV channel RTL "has acquired rights to the World Rally Championship." After a number of years, WRC "will return to RTL with eight magazine-type shows that feature race highlights." The WRC show "will be part of the channel's F1 broadcasts." In addition to WRC, the show "will also feature the FIA GT Series and the Blancpain Endurance Series" (DWDL, 3/4).
